Day Care the Children's World Way
Exploratory Play Via Learning Centers
Studies show that young children learn best through hands on learning experiences, especially when engaged in exploratory play via learning centers. Some of the activity centers at Children's World day care include: a drawing and writing center, dramatic play, housekeeping, Lego's, Duplo blocks, puzzles, ABC, math, large quiet blocks, and a book corner. Developing fine motor skills will also be emphasized via teacher directed art projects. To develop gross motor skills, (weather permitting), the director will take the children to the neighborhood tot lot/playground as required twice a day. Ms. Anna will complete monthly fire drills with the children as required.

Daily Day Care Activity Schedule
- 6:45 - 7:30: Greet the children, and help them get settled. Children can play with quiet table top toys, color pictures, or rest quietly till 7:30 AM on his/her own personal rest mat.
- 7:30 - 7:50: Circle time (ex: read aloud, calendar, songs, finger plays and movement)
- 7:50 - 8:05: Bathroom break
- 8:05 - 8:35: Healthy breakfast and clean up
- 8:35 - 9:10: Center time and clean up
- 9:10 - 9:35: Reading Language Arts lesson and/or fine motor activity
- 9:35 - 9:50: Bathroom break
- 9:50 - 10:10: AM snack and clean up
- 10:10 - 11:00: Prepare for outside playtime (weather permitting), and walk to playground
- 11:15 - 11:30: Show & Tell
- 11:30 - 11:45: Bathroom break
- 11:45 - 12:15: Lunch Bunch and clean up
- 12:15 - 12:30: Wash hands from lunch
- 12:30 - 12:45: Prepare for nap time
- 12:45 - 2:45: Nap time
- 2:45 - 3:00: Bathroom break
- 3:00 - 3:20: PM snack
- 3:20 - 3:40: Math
- 3:40 - 4:00: Character Counts or Social Studies or Science lesson
- 4:00 - 4:50: Bathroom break/get ready for outside playtime (weather permitting) walk to playground
- 5:10 - 5:45: Story time/evaluate and recap day/prepare to go home
Children will have a teacher directed project to complete while in day care if we are unable to go outside or have additional center time.
Birthday celebrations are encouraged! If you would like for your child to celebrate his/her birthday at day care with his/her day care friends, please let Ms. Anna know so we can add it to our schedule. Parents will need to supply the birthday party items such as: a small treat like cupcakes, juice, party plates, napkins, cups or favors.
